The FACEIT Major: London 2018 is over and Astralis strode in guns blazin’ as they took another Major championship in their bag. As for the other teams, a new tournament is now open to showcase their talents as CS:GO returns to the Big Apple with ESL One: New York 2018 is now underway.

ESL ONE: New York 2018 will be held at Barclays Center in New York. With $250,000 on the line and another chance to bag another tournament in the first season of the Intel Grand Slam, 8 teams will shoot their way out and will emerge victorious in this event.

With big teams from Europe and North America, an open qualifier was held last June 2018 and the top teams for both regions will have another chance to shoot out with the 6 invited teams. Gambit Esports will represent Europe and NRG Esports for North America will complete the 8 invited teams. The group stages for this event will run on September 26th – 28th, 2018 with 2 double elimination format (GSL) Groups with 4 teams playing for each group. All matches are BO3 with the top 2 teams from each group will advance to the playoffs and will play this coming September 29th – 30th, 2018 in a single elimination bracket while the semifinal round will be BO3 and the Grand finals will be BO5. As the first day of the group stages commences, Na’Vi loses their opening match against Gambit Esports 2-1 while Fnatic is still struggling as they fought against mouseports 2-1. On the other group, FaZe clan is still not getting their aim right as they lose to kennyS and the rest of the G2 Esports 2-1 while Team Liquid won against NRG Esports 2-1. As for the losing teams, Na’Vi and Fnatic battled each other on an elimination match with Na’Vi winning 2-1 against Fnatic while FaZe clan and NRG Esports will play on 09/27/18 23:00 UTC+8.
